Hiding wires under siding.

Posted in wiring closet. I don t think you will be able to get conduit directly under the siding without a protrusion. What do folks think about running cat5 cables under vinyl siding and or along the siding edge channels. For example coaxial cable for satellite or cable television service can be hidden under vinyl siding for a cleaner appearance.

Most or the cable lays flat on the ground rocks i don t wanna throw the wires over the top of the new siding but i feel as tho ill need to. I still tuck a heavy duty 120 volt extension cord under the corner molding going up to the second floor. It has a strong adhesive on one side so it can be easily run along walls floors and under carpets. Exterior paneling and all exterior sidings hide cable behind siding hello all see below pic.

If your house is wrapped with osb under the siding you can remove a couple of sections of siding in the area you want the wire run modify the osb by cutting a groove in it and laying the conduit in the groove replacing the siding over the area. If your siding is more than 15 years old consider a different method of hiding cables or take the risk of damaging the siding.
